Doug and Philip, both raised in mercilessly small towns, grew up with an unwavering desire to make their worlds better places. Eventually they came to see that the best way to do this was by impacting the place where most of us will spend the majority of our time, at work.
In his prior career as a behavior therapist Doug helped people in crisis put their lives back together. He clearly saw the impact that the workplace could have on people in both positive and negative ways. Philip, in his work and research around motivation and productivity, came to see the fundamental importance and power of engaged employees and it’s impact across all aspects of their lives.
Doug and Philip both noticed that many of their clients treated life and work as if these two very interdependent realms were somehow divided. The idea that everything else in the universe somehow melts away the moment employees step inside the office seemed like magical thinking. They realized that being stressed or overwhelmed in one realm significantly impacted the other, and that the common perception just made no sense.
Both research and client experience has clearly shown to Doug and Philip that whats good for us as individuals is also good for the corporate bottom line. This is why both are passionate about helping people to be their best across all areas of their lives!
When you get right down to it, business is a human endeavor. Strip away the factories, the stores, the office towers, the systems and analytics, and what’s left are people looking to do something meaningful and feel like they belong to something bigger than themselves.
And yet, shockingly, so much strategic business planning has little to do with developing people personally and professionally. Processes and systems are overly emphasized and outcomes feel more like a chart or statistic that are cold and impersonal. Employees may see the the byproduct of all that work and planning but they simply don’t feel valued in the bigger picture.
At Brockway Services Inc, we help clients uncover strategies to build an environment and corporate culture that not only feeds your bottom line, but also impacts each individual that reports to your company for work.

Philip McAndrew, VP Engagement
Philip is passionate about making the societies we live in better. He dreams of a world where corporations focus on creating value for people both inside and outside their company. By providing the nations largest and most forward thinking institutions the tools and perspective they need to better understand their people, he hopes to impact society in a way that can be felt across all social interaction – a place where people are happier, more productive, and possess a more intentional attitude toward their work and play.
Philip also operates on the belief that the socio-economic climate is rapidly changing. These changes are less obvious than the changes we have seen in information, but equally as fast. The next generation of employees will have different values, different work habits, and a different view on how business should function. Philip’s goal is to help companies stay balanced while the entire corporate landscape is rapidly shifting underneath them.
Since he began researching the relationships between motivation, recruitment, retention & productivity, Philip’s focus has intensified around employee engagement. Understanding how best to engage, motivate and sustain your workforce has never been as important as it is in today’s global business environment.
Philip’s business experience, International MBA, certifications in project & supply chain management, facilitation experience, and global perspective allow him to bring a variety of viewpoints to enrich and facilitate learning and development with individuals and teams at any level – in any location.
“Doug arrived in London in the midst of critical and difficult contract negotiations with my company’s largest client. He quickly got up to speed and helped me to identify additional strategies to communicate the value of our work and our hopes for expanding this relationship. Doug sat in on our negotiation meeting the following day and facilitated the conversation , ensuring the client fully understood what was being proposed … Not only were we successful in renewing our original contract but two additional ones as well. Thanks Doug!”
